The term ‘stochastic approach’ describes Laird's wood compositions - working toward completion through a manipulation of geometry.

Laird seldom offers his work for sale and does not exhibit in commercial galleries. He shows his work every decade when he will host a party to “show off.” As a member of the Federation of Canadian artists he contributes to their public exhibitions.
